Our transcription routing network meets all HIPAA guidelines for transmission of Protected Health Information (PHI). We use 128-bit encryption by Thawte which ensures the confidentiality of all transcription projects.

As a Business Associate of a Covered Entity, Vitaltype™ ensures the confidentiality of the patient's PHI and maintains an audit trail of all individuals who have had access to PHI. Vitaltype™ enters into a privacy agreement with all our Medical clients. In addition, we maintain non-disclosure agreements with all our Medical typists.

Our digital handheld recorders give clients the freedom to record dictation anytime, anywhere. Each recorder can hold up to 22 hours of dictation depending on record speed.

Security
Live Vitaltype™ firewall monitoring 24/7 with rapid notification of suspicious or malicious activity offers protection BEFORE unauthorized users can access the system. Onsite server security includes trained security guards and hand-scanners with early-warning and detection fire systems.

Vitaltype™ also provides a level one firewall. Server environmental controls include air conditioning, water detection and humidity control. All servers are backed up by UPS systems and generators. All this planning and redundancy minimizes the possibility of catastrophic system failures.
